In 2010 year the festival will be lead in LIDO DI JESOLO – the most famous resort in the Italian Riviera which is part of the splendid Venetian lagoon. The resort is known for its seaside streets, with the beautiful green oases, the quietness and the closeness to the most romantic city in the world – Venice.

Director of festival “Orpheus in Italy” 2011 year – Snezhana Polihronova - Karnolska

I. Aims of festival

The main aim of the festival is to bring together children and youths from all over the world, giving them the opportunity to show, together through presenting their achievements in the arts, that this is the way which children – the future of the world – can wrestle the increasing criminality among the young generation, as well as that art is the force that gathers and overcomes all limits and divergences. This world forum, the getting together of young people from all ethnics and nationalities, speaking different languages, is a symbol of tolerance among the children that we can do more together!

III. Participants and regulation

  1. In festival “Orpheus in Italy” 2011 year can take part children and youth formation and soloists. Any one, who wishes to participate in festival, must fill correctly application for, which is on the end of this offer.
  2. Allowable age of participants: up to 25 years old.
  3. In the festival “Orpheus in Italy” can take part participants exceed permissible age, after application from them and by the estimation of the organizers.
  4. Genres – with no limits: chores, vocal groups, dance formations (modern dance, folklore, break –dance, hip-hop, majorette ensembles), orchestras (Brass, folklore and others), circuses, theatres of mode, untraditional forms, street arts, demonstrations of east martial arts and others and others…
  5. Art groups take part minimum in 2(two) concerts (with 1 performance in each concert) and duration of 1 performance must be lasting up to 4 minutes. Those conditions are for every kind of stage performances.
  6. Vocal soloists take part in 1 (one) festival concert, with 1 (one) performance lasting up to 3 minutes.
  7. Participating in festival of soloists, representative untraditional forms of arts will be considered and decided in addition by organizers.
  8. There is opportunity to be organized exhibitions, depending on works of participants (applied art, photographic, painting and others)
  9. Until 30 of June 2011 year participants in Festival “Orpheus in Italy” and in competitions must to send on the address of Art Center “Karnolsky”:
    • 2 art photos on CD and/or by e-mail;
    • Demo video of group or soloist on DVD (or to give web address on internet, where can be seen demo video)
    • Audio record of soloist/ vocal group on CD/ or by e-mail in MP3 format
  10. During the festival will be carry out workshops in different directions, planer for children and youth – artists and competitions for vocal soloist and groups, competitions for dance groups, Brass orchestras, similar and mixed choirs.
  11. Applications Forms for competitions, which will be lead within the frameworks of Festival “Orpheus in Italy” must be send separately for each competition.
  12. Participants in Festival are not obliged to take part in competitions.
  13. Participants in competitions take part in festival concerts and activities.
  14. It doesn’t admit soloist to be member of formation /group.
  15. Participants takes diplomas, film for festival (film will be send on the address of participant after end of Festival). The organizers provide for free time of participants different kind of entertainments: carnivals, discotheques, competition “Miss and Mister Festival” and others.

During the festival days 19 -25 September 2011 year will be lead following competitions:

  • Competition for vocal performers of pop-song – soloists
  • Competition for vocal performers of pop- song – groups
  • Competition for a dance formations
  • Competition for Brass orchestras
  • Competition for choirs (similar and mixed)

The Jury gives one award SUPER GRAND PRIX „THE CROWN OF EUROPE” only for exceptional artistic level!–500 Е

I. Competition for soloists (children and youth) – performers of pop songs

Categories: The participants are classified in 4 age categories, as follows:

  1. age category - up to 10 years old (inclusive)
  2. age category - from 11 to 13 years old (inclusive)
  3. age category - from 14 to 17 years old (inclusive)
  4. age category - from 18 to 25 years old (inclusive)

Requirements:

  1. Participants, taking part in this competition, perform 2 songs by their choice (for III and IV age categories songs must be on different languages)
  2. The songs will be performed a live with an accompaniment of the performer’s choice.
  3. If the record has additional voices they are not allowed to repeat the main melody.
  4. The subject of songs must be corresponding with the ages of participant, and not to be opposed to ethnical, religious, race and other indication.
  5. Duration of 1 performed song:
    • I and II category – lasting up to 3, 00 minutes
    • III and IV category – lasting up to 4, 00 minutes
  6. Candidates for this competition must to send until 31 May 2010 year audio and video record of 2 competitive songs on CD, DVD by post services or by e-mail on MP3 format and to give web address on internet, where can be seen video or where can be heard songs, all this materials must be accompanying with Declaration from authors of music, lyrics and arrangement, give consent them product to be using for aims of festival and competition (that include TV broadcasting, produce DVD).

The performance of cover version is allowed only after presenting a signed document for author rights, issued from adequate agency in the participant’s country.

Judgment: The performances of participants in competition will be judge be commission, made by prominent European experts. The judgment will be based on following criteria:

  • Vocal performance;
  • Interpretation;
  • Stage costume;
  • Stage manners, suitable with the age of the performers ;

Participant fee for competition:(pays only from participants, who already have permit for taking part in competition): 50 Е

Prizes: In all age categories the Jury award First, Second and Third Place, and also Special Awards for artistic, youngest performer and other.

The Jury awards Grand Prix only for exceptional artistic level!

GRAND PRIX „THE CROWN OF ORPHEUS” – 300 Е

In all age categories:

  • First Place – Diploma and gifts

II. Competition for vocal groups – performers of pop-songs

Categories: The participants are classified in 3 age categories, as follows:

  1. age category - up to 13 years (inclusive)
  2. age category - from 14 to 18 years (inclusive
  3. age category - from 19 to 25 years (inclusive)
The group must be from more than 7 members.

Requirements:

  1. Participants, taking part in this competition, perform 2 songs by their choice (for III and IV age categories songs must be on different languages)
  2. The songs will be performed a live with an accompaniment of the performer’s choice.
  3. If the record has additional voices they are not allowed to repeat the main melody.
  4. The subject of songs must be corresponding with the ages of participant, and not to be opposed to ethnical, religious, race and other indication.
  5. Duration of 1 performed song:
    • I and II category – lasting up to 3, 00 minutes
    • III and IV category – lasting up to 4, 00 minutes
  6. Candidates for this competition must to send until 20 March 2010 year audio and video record of 2 competitive songs on CD, DVD by post services or by e-mail on MP3 format and to give web address on internet, where can be seen video or where can be heard songs, all this materials must be accompanying with Declaration from authors of music, lyrics and arrangement, give consent them product to be using for aims of festival and competition (that include TV broadcasting, produce DVD).

III. Competition for a dance formations

Categories: The participants are classified in 3 age categories, as follows:

  1. age category - up to 13 years (inclusive)
  2. age category - from 14 to 18 years (inclusive
  3. age category - from 19 to 25 years (inclusive)
And will be compete in following genres:
  • Folklore dance
  • Modern dance (in this nomination will compete all formations/groups, which are not in genre folklore)
  • Break-dance formations
  • Majorette ensembles
The group must be from more than 8 members.

Requirements:

  1. The participants in this competition perform 2 dances, with accompaniment by their choices.
  2. Durations of 1 dance must be lasting up to 4 minutes
  3. The subject of performances must be corresponding with the ages of participant, and not to be opposed to ethnical, religious, race and other indication.

Judgment: The performances of participants in competition will be judge be commission, made by prominent European experts. The judgment will be based on following criteria:

  • Technique and complexity of performance
  • Originality of the choreography
  • Stage costume
  • Stage manners, suitable with the age of the performers

Participant fee for competition:(pays only from participants, which already have permit for taking part in competition): 100 Е

Prizes: In all age categories the Jury award First, Second and Third Place, and also Special Awards for artistic, youngest performer and other.

IV. Competition for Brass orchestras

Categories: The participants are classified in 2 age categories, as follows:

  1. age category - schools orchestras
  2. age category - students orchestras

Requirements:

  1. The participants in this competition perform 2 musical composition
  2. Duration of one composition must be lasting up to 5 minutes
  3. The musical compositions, which will be perform are by participants choice, but must be corresponding with the ages of participant, and not to be opposed to ethnical, religious, race and other indication

Judgment: The performances of participants in competition will be judge be commission, made by prominent European experts. The judgment will be based on following criteria:

  • Perform mastery
  • Complexity of musical compositions
  • Interpretation
  • Ingenious of perform

Participant fee for competition:(pays only from participants, which already have permit for taking part in competition): 100 Е

Prizes: In all age categories the Jury award First, Second and Third Place, and also Special Awards for artistic, youngest performer and other.

V. Competition for similar and mixed choirs

Categories:

  1. Children choirs(up to 16 years old inclusive)
  2. Choirs, which members are from 17 to 25 years old (inclusive)
  • men choirs
  • women choirs
  • mixed choirs

Requirements:

  1. The participants perform a’capella 2 musical composition (one from Renaissance ages – XV-XVII Century; and second – modern ages)
  2. Duration of one performance must be lasting up to 5 minutes.
  3. Performances are by participants’ choice, but must be corresponding with the ages of participant, and not to be opposed to ethnical, religious, race and other indication.

Judgment: The performances of participants in competition will be judge be commission, made by prominent European experts. The judgment will be based on following criteria:

  • Perform mastery
  • Complexity of musical compositions
  • Interpretation
  • Ingenious of perform

Participation of children’s and youth amateur circus troupes and individual performers

By the decision of the organizers, accordingly technical requirements of the troupes or individual performers and possibilities on festival stages.

GENERAL TERMS OF THE FESTIVAL “ORPHEUS IN ITALY”

I. Technical conditions

Technical service during the Festival „Orpheus in Italy”, is provide from Musical Company “SILVIA MISIC”, which dispose of the best equipments for sounds and lights in Bulgaria
The organizers give up 8 microphones (4 of them are radio) during the festival.

REQUIREMENTS FOR PARTICIPANTS Music must be record on CD (audio format) with perfect quality of sound

II. Accommodation

Participants in Festival and accompanying persons will be accommodate in Lido di Jesolo hotels**, rooms with 3 and 4 beds, every room with WC and showers. The hotels are located nearby beach and Central Street of the complex.

Groups over 21 people are due 1 double room for the leaders of groups.

ATTENTION: The accommodation in hotels will be after 14 o’clock, after payment of the rest of fee for participantion are made and give to organizers list, with names and dates of births of all persons, who come with group and all documents, confirm advance payments by bank transfer At the departure day the rooms must be vacate rooms / apartments up to 12 o’clock a.m.

III. Participant fee for Festival “Orpheus in Italy”

280 € per children up to 16 years old * and 298 € per adult person;

This sum is per 1 person and includes: technical securitization of festival (stenography, sounds, lights, making TV film, cover preliminary preparation of Festival, circumstances for creative meetings); accommodation in hotels** - 6 nights and feeding 2 (two) times at day (breakfast and dinner) - (19-25 September 2011 year) .

For groups of 21 people, 1 (one) participate gratis

For groups consisting in more than 20 people the organizers provide 1 double room for the leaders of the group.

After previous application and against extra payment, you can order additionally lunch, rooms with one or two beds.

*everyone, who is 16 years old to the beginning of festival, is considered for adult

V. TRANSPORT

Every participant should tend to his own transport to and from the places of accommodation

The transfers from the airports, railway stations, etc. to the places of accommodation and the return are carried out by the organizers on preliminary request from the participants. The amount of the transfer depends on the place of arrival and departure and on the number of persons.

VI. INVITATION

To receive an official invitation, which will facilitate the obtaining of visas for the Republic of Italy you must promptly send us: a list of the passengers (performers, managers, companions, bus drivers) with their full names, dates of birth and the valid passport numbers, also post address, on which will be send invitation not late from 30 of June 2011 year. By your choice invitation may be send by:

  • ordinary post services
  • courier DHL / the costs are covered by the participants/.

VII. DEADLINE FOR APPLICATION

Applications for taking part in the Festival “Orpheus in Italy” and in the competition during the festival will be admitted until 30 of JUNE 2011 year on

ATTENTION:
In case of annulations of application, which is connect with reservation in hotel, by owing to circumstances beyond our control, the deposit amounting to 30 % would not be returned . The rest part of the payment is paying in the arrival day, before accommodation in the hotel. After indicated dates for application and after depletion of hotel base, condition for participation are negotiate in addition with everyone, who wants to take part in Festival.

VIII. GENERAL TERMS

  1. Application forms will be admitted only with a fully-filled form for participation, attached to the present offer and materials sent by e-mail or regular mail, reflecting the performances of everyone who wishes to participate! On the arrival the participants are required to submit a copy of the present offer and a declaration of rights.
  2. The leaders of groups are responsible for eventual accidents and contusions of the participants during their performances on stage, as well as during their whole stay in Italy.
  3. Participants and accompanying persons must to have Health insurance
  4. The leaders of groups are responsible for the behavior of the members of their art groups during the initiative.
  5. The participants are responsible for their costumes, stage properties and personal belongings.
  6. The artistic and business contacts on the territory of Italy are made exclusively from Art Center Karnolsky. The participants must sign a Declaration with which they grant the rights on the AUDIO and VIDEO recordings for the aims of the festival and the competitions that are held as part of it.
  7. The organizers reserve their right to take pictures, to register and to distribute the performances from the program of the competitions and the festival without paying for rights or compensations.
  8. The juries and the organizers reserve the right to decide which of those who have won First places in the competitions, along with the most attractive participants in the festival, will participate in the Gala concert, as well as with which part of the program they will present themselves.
  9. The prize SUPER GRAND PRIX “THE CROWN OF EUROPE” will be bestowed on the decision of the juries and with the consent of the organizers to an artistic group or to a soloist that have participated in the competitions and have distinguished themselves with a brilliant performance and exclusive artistic level.
  10. To the participants in the festival will be presented with diplomas.
